The City Marathon Bremerhaven is held annually in the port of Bremerhaven on Germany's North Sea coast.

The event offers the following race distances:

400m and 800m Kinderlauf (kids' run)
6.5km run and walk
10km
21.1km Halbmarathon (half marathon)
42.2km Marathon
42.2km Marathonstaffel (4x10.5km marathon relay)
The start and the finish line are inside the Stadthalle, an event arena situated about two kilometres from the coast.

Roughly following the Geeste river, the route takes the runners out and back to the waterfront, along the seaside promenade (pictured) and around the Zoo am Meer (‘Zoo at the Sea’).

Participants in the half marathon run two laps of this course. The marathon is four laps.

For the most part, the course is flat .
