Latvian State Forest "Stirnu buks" in Tērvete leads through the LVM nature park trails, where the Fairy Tale Forest and Sprīdīša Land meet with the true spirit of trail running. The routes wind through forest paths, hilly sections, and beautiful, family-friendly park areas, where you can feel the spirit of Anna Brigadere's stories and the breath of Tērvete's history. Tērvete's "Stirnu buks" is already a legend in the calendar — thousands of trail runners have started here, and once again the real atmosphere of the season's opening awaits, with proper trail work, support, and a festive feeling at the finish line.
• Distance "Vāvere" / LVM School Championship
Vāvere (6 km) is the shortest but very dynamic loop through the trails of Tērvete Forest — ideal for a first trail experience, schoolchildren, and those who want a fast, intense run with elevation. The pace changes frequently here: small climbs, bends, and forest cover require you to work smart, but the distance is compact enough to get a taste of the competition without getting too tired.
• Distance "Zaķis" – 12 km
Zaķis (12 km) is the golden mean for those who want to enjoy the full length of the Tērvete trails, but still keep the thrill of competition. The route offers more relief and rhythm changes, allowing you to run faster sections and "carry" the climbs, while still enjoying an adventure in the nature park.
• Distance "Stirnu buks" – 19 km
Stirnu buks (19 km) is a classic trail running challenge: longer, hillier, and a real test of endurance, where you have to plan your pace and energy. In the Tērvete Forest, this distance offers the most complete "story" of the route — more variety of trails, more climbs, and more moments where you have to keep your head as steady as your legs.
• Distance "Lūsis" — 24 km
Lūsis (24 km) is the longest distance and a serious test for experienced trail runners: the terrain is uneven, fatigue comes in waves, and stability becomes your main weapon. This is where the Tērvete trails reveal themselves most fully — diverse terrain, climbs, and a long feeling of hard work, which is rewarded at the finish line with the satisfaction of a "real lynx."
• Canicross (with a dog)
This season's start also includes the canicross discipline — running with a dog, where your four-legged partner helps you keep up the pace. Canicross is organized by the association "RaceDog Latvia," and it is a great opportunity to participate in "Stirnu bukā" with your dog and gain a completely different racing experience.
