Firenze Marathon

Welcome to the Firenze (Florence) Marathon! This exhilarating 42 kilometer and 195 meter race immerses you in centuries of art, history, and culture, providing a unique experience for international runners. The event draws thousands of dedicated athletes and enthusiasts from around the world to participate on the last Sunday of November. As you run, you'll pass by iconic landmarks that have made Florence known worldwide, including the breathtaking hills and countryside and the bustling Cathedral Square, Piazza della Signoria, and Ponte Vecchio.This prestigious event has seen a significant increase in participation in recent years, solidifying its position as the second largest marathon in Italy, and one of the top 20 marathons in the world. The challenging route takes you through narrow streets, but also offers stunning views of Italian scenery and architectural wonders.

**IMPORTANT INFORMATION**
According to the Rules for the Organization of Events, all athletes may participate as long as they meet certain criteria. Athletes must be registered with an Italian sports club affiliated with FIDAL, or a foreign athletic federation affiliated with WORLD ATHLETICS. Additionally, those residing in Italy and registered with a sports promotion body, or holding a RUNCARD issued by FIDAL, may also participate. All participants must provide a medical certificate or health form that is valid on race day. Those without any membership card may still participate in the non-competitive race for leisure purposes, but will not be eligible for prizes or rankings.

Please note that Italian athletes, even those residing abroad, are not permitted to participate without a valid membership card. Any Italian or foreign athlete with a RUNCARD or RUNCARD EPS may not receive cash prizes or similar benefits, but will still be included in the event rankings.
