The SPAR Budapest Marathon® Festival is Budapest’s flagship autumn running weekend: two days of racing, huge crowds, live music on the course, and a city that truly runs with you. Routes showcase the best of Budapest, including stretches along the Danube waterfront, iconic boulevards, and panoramas near UNESCO-listed areas.
What makes the festival special is its range of formats for every level: run the full marathon, share it in a 2-person or 4-person relay, step up with the 30 km “marathon prep” distance, or choose shorter, faster events like 14 km, 10 km, and 5 km. There are also family- and community-friendly options, so you can come for a serious time goal or simply for the atmosphere.
• SPAR Budapest Marathon® — 42.195 km (Individual)
The classic marathon and the festival’s main event. A true bucket-list challenge through one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals—big preparation, big emotions, and an unforgettable finish.
• SPAR Budapest Marathon® Pair Relay — 42.2 km (2-person relay)
All the marathon atmosphere, shared with a partner. Split the distance, support each other, and enjoy the energy of race day with a team finish that feels twice as good.
• SPAR Marathon Relay — 42.2 km (4-person relay)
A perfect team experience for friends, colleagues, or running clubs. Run the marathon together in four legs and celebrate the finish as a crew—ideal for team-building and shared memories.
• SPAR 30 km — 30 km
The “bridge to the marathon” distance. Great for runners who feel comfortable beyond the half marathon but aren’t ready for 42K yet—serious endurance, festival energy, and a strong step toward next year’s marathon.
• SPAR 14 km — 14 km
The sweet spot between 10K and a half marathon. Long enough to feel like a real race, accessible enough to run with confidence—especially if 21K feels too far but 10K feels too short.
• SPAR 10 Kilometres — 10 km
Fast, popular, and perfect for chasing a PB. A clean race distance with great rhythm, strong crowd support, and the full festival vibe—ideal for both beginners and experienced runners.
• SPAR Minimarathon — 5 km
Short, energetic, and extremely inclusive. The best way to experience the festival if you’re new to events, want a fun race, or aim to run your quickest-ever 5K with a big-city finish.
• SPAR Relay — 3×2 km
A short relay built for fun and teamwork. Quick legs, lots of cheering, and an easy way to join the festival with friends or family—more energy, less pressure.
• SPAR School Relay — 3×2 km
A youth-focused relay that brings schools into the festival atmosphere. Short segments, team spirit, and a great entry point into running events.
• SPAR Maratonka — 2.3 km
A beginner-friendly mini distance made for first-timers and groups. Perfect if you’re just getting into running and want to experience a real start/finish without a long build-up.
