The Night Run in the beer-brewing city of České Budějovice (German: Budweis) features a particularly beautiful setting.
The start and the finish line are on náměstí Přemysla Otakara II. (Ottokar II Square; pictured above), one of the largest town squares in the Czech Republic.
These races are available:
300m-600m-900m-1,200m Kids Cup (races for children 14 years and under)
1km Sprint
2km Fénix Run (non-competitive charity run)
5km Avon Běh
10km NN Night Run
2x5km Štafeta (relay for teams of two runners)
The 5k starts off at 6pm. The route takes the runners along the Vltava river, through the vast Stromovka park, across Sokolský ostrov (an island with many sports facilities) and through the picturesque historic town centre. The course is mainly flat.
Participants in the 10k race run two laps of the 5k course, starting at 7.30pm. Participants have to wear a čelovka (headlamp) during the race.
