Tromsø Mountain Challenge

Tromsø Mountain Challenge is a two-day trail running weekend set in the Arctic landscapes around Tromsø, staged at the end of summer when Northern Norway turns crisp and colorful. Across August 22–23, 2026, runners move from valley trails to exposed mountain terrain — with routes that cross ridges, plateaus, and high viewpoints, delivering a mix of technical sections and wide-open scenery you don’t forget. The event offers multiple races for different levels: from the more accessible Dalheim Rundt and La Sportiva HalfUltra (25 km) to the full La Sportiva Ultra (50 km) — plus the steep, stair-heavy challenge of Explo Ekstremløpet via Sherpa steps. Several courses finish with a signature moment: a spectacular descent through Tromsdalen Valley and a finish at TUIL Arena, adding a real “mountain-to-city” feeling to the weekend.
