X-WATERS - Belgrade

X-WATERS Belgrade 2026 (May 16–17, 2026) marks the opening of the outdoor swimming season in this part of Europe, bringing swimmers to Serbia’s capital for a fast and friendly open-water weekend at Ada Ciganlija Lake—often called the “Belgrade Sea.” Set right by the city, the race pairs calm lake conditions with iconic scenery, including the Ada Bridge and the lively promenade along the shoreline. All swims start and finish at Taložnik Beach, with clear buoy marking, support boats at turning points, and an easy-to-follow layout that works for both first-timers and experienced racers. You can also combine multiple distances over the weekend (e.g., 1 mile + 3 km, 5 km + 500 m, 5 km + relay), making it a mini swim festival for every level. - Distances • X-KIDS 100 m A short, confidence-boosting swim for the youngest participants. One loop, beach start/finish, and a safe, clearly controlled course. • 500 m A quick open-water hit that’s great for beginners, speed lovers, or anyone adding a second race. One loop with a straightforward route close to the shore. • 1 Mile The classic middle-distance challenge—ideal for pushing pace and practicing buoy turns without going long. One loop, same start/finish at the beach. • 3 km A solid endurance test with enough length to settle into rhythm and race strategy. One loop along the shoreline with calm, fast water. • 5 km The main endurance race of the weekend, designed for strong pacing and consistency. Two identical loops, with the same beach start/finish. • Relay 3×1 km A team format with great energy and competition. The relay covers three loops total, keeping the race dynamic and spectator-friendly from the beach.
