LifeStar Malta Marathon

LifeStar Malta Marathon 2026 was the 41st edition of one of the Mediterranean’s most established road races, held on 22 February 2026 as a destination-style running weekend in Malta. The event brought runners to the island for a point-to-point race experience beginning in Mdina and finishing on the waterfront in Sliema, combining competitive road racing with historic scenery, sea views, and the relaxed appeal of a late-winter escape. In 2026, the race also opened the inaugural Running Europe Tour, giving that edition added international significance beyond the local calendar.

What made the 2026 edition especially attractive was the course itself. Official race materials described both the marathon and half marathon as relatively fast routes with a 185-metre net drop from start to finish, passing through countryside, urban sections, and the yacht-lined creeks of Malta’s natural Grand Harbour before reaching the finish promenade in Sliema. Alongside the full marathon, the weekend also included the half marathon, Endo Walkathon, 5K Charity Run & Walk, and Kids Race, which gave the event a broad, inclusive feel while still preserving the identity of a serious marathon weekend.
