Riga Cycling Grand Prix

The Riga Grand Prix Cycling Race 2026 will take place on August 19 in Riga, at the Biķernieku Complex Sports Base (Sergeja Eizenšteina iela 4). This is an evening cycling event on a safe, closed track, where children's races, individual starts and dynamic group races all take place in one place. The competition is organized by the Latvian Cycling Federation in accordance with UCI regulations, with electronic timekeeping, online results, and photo finish (fotofiniss.lv). Distances and formats • Children's races (400–2000 m, Large Track)
A real "first start" for little cyclists – short distances on the Biķernieki Grand Circuit, without complications and with a positive atmosphere. Start at 16:30, followed by an awards ceremony at 17:30, and surprise prizes for every participant.

• Individual time trial (ITT) – 5.5 to 22 km
A format for those who want to test their pace and technique on the track without the "hustle and bustle." Starts take place between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. (beginners, youth, and adults), with participants taking to the track according to the start list. Bicycle – freely chosen.

• Health class – 11 km (12+) A friendly distance for those who want to "ride for themselves" and at the same time get a taste of competition. Special nominations are determined: fastest man/woman (17+) and fastest youth (17–).

Group ride • 70 km – for amateurs, juniors, and elite riders (start at 7:30 p.m.) • 50 km – for women (start at 7:35 p.m.) This is where the real group dynamics come into play: pace, tactics, and teamwork. If a participant is lapped, the race may continue until the leaders finish, unless the judges decide otherwise for safety reasons. Important rules and services

• Helmets are mandatory for everyone on the track. • After the first start on the day of the race, training/warming up on the race track is prohibited. • Participants are provided with medical assistance, prizes for 1st–3rd place in age groups, as well as a photo gallery within 2 days after the finish.
