Latvian Cyclists Unity Ride

The 36th Latvijas Riteņbraucēju Vienības brauciens is Latvia’s largest and most tradition-rich cycling event, bringing thousands of riders to Sigulda — from everyday cyclists to licensed athletes. Since its revival in 1995, the event has stayed true to its main idea: creating a sense of togetherness and inspiring an active, healthy lifestyle. Vienības brauciens is often compared to the Latvian Song and Dance Festival — just on a bike and a little faster 😄

In 2026, we meet in Sigulda on September 5–6:

• September 5 is dedicated to the Children’s Vienības Ride
• September 6 is the main Vienības brauciens day with multiple distances for different levels

Participants can choose between competitive distances with timekeeping and a relaxed ride format without comparing results. Beyond the sporting side, the atmosphere matters too: Sigulda’s nature, spectator support, and the feeling of being part of Latvia’s biggest cycling community.

• ROAD SPORT RIDE ~98–100 km
This distance is for experienced, licensed road cyclists who train regularly and can ride fast in a group (over ~35 km/h). Previous racing experience and a road bike are required. It’s all about pace, tactics, group work, and steady endurance to the finish.

• TOYOTA MTB / GRAVEL RIDE ~40–61 km
A big, dynamic ride for those who want speed, adventure, and the forest/gravel vibe. MTB or Gravel bikes are allowed. A great choice for both experienced amateurs and everyday riders looking for a longer, more sporty challenge.

• PEOPLE’S RIDE ~47 km
A great option for families, work teams, and beginners who want to join a major event and ride around Sigulda together with thousands of others. Any bike type with brakes is allowed, no racing experience needed — the key is participation, safe riding, and the spirit of unity.

• BTA LEISURE RIDE ~29 km (regulations: 26–46 km)
The most colorful and relaxed format — no timing and no placing. This ride is about the atmosphere: nice outfits, elegant bikes, a vintage vibe, and tastings/snacks at refreshment points highlighting local flavors. Perfect if you want to enjoy Vienības brauciens as a celebration rather than a race.

• CHILDREN’S VIENĪBAS RIDE (September 5)
A special day for the youngest participants — fun, safe, and full of event spirit. A chance to feel the togetherness of Vienības brauciens and the joy of movement from an early age.

EXPO: September 4–5 at Akropole Alfa (bib pickup 10:00–21:00)
Bib number: info sent on September 3 (SMS/email); for the children’s ride, bib info is not sent in advance
• Safety: helmet is mandatory; follow course markings, officials’ instructions, and traffic rules
