Vasaloppet 2027 is the 103rd edition of Sweden’s legendary long-distance ski race, taking place on 7 March 2027 over 90 kilometres in classic technique from Berga By in Sälen to the iconic finish in Mora. First held in 1922 and inspired by the historic story of Gustav Vasa, Vasaloppet has grown into the world’s biggest cross-country ski race and one of the sport’s most prestigious traditions. What makes it truly special is the way elite athletes and recreational skiers share the same historic track, passing famous checkpoints through forests, marshland, and open winter landscapes before reaching the celebrated finish portal in Mora. As the flagship event of Vasaloppet’s Winter Week and a cornerstone of the long-distance skiing calendar, it offers far more than a physical challenge: it is a deep immersion into Swedish sporting culture, endurance, and heritage, with an atmosphere that feels both monumental and intensely personal.
