Ventspils People's Triathlon - 2nd stage at Busnieki Lake The second meeting of the triathlon will take place on 30 July at Lake Busnieki, one of the most picturesque places in Ventspils, where nature and city infrastructure meet in a perfect balance. Here, triathletes will find a calm lake, comfortable cycle paths and a friendly atmosphere suitable for both experienced athletes and beginners. The event centre and registration area will be located in the lake swimming area at the end of Talsu Street. From 17:00 to 18:00 participants will be able to register, get information and prepare for the start. The race briefing will take place at 18:00 and the start will be at 18:15. The triathlon distance in this leg consists of three legs: Swim - one lap of 0.2 km in Busnieki Lake. The water here is calm and suitable for swimming without large waves, with a maximum depth of 1.7 m. Cycling - one 8.3 km lap around the lake on an asphalted and well-maintained cycle path. MTB, gravel or road bike with wide enough tyres is recommended. Running - one or two laps (depending on participant's choice), each 1.25 km long, on the asphalted path of Lake Busnieki, which leads through a verdant landscape. Participation is free of charge and everyone is welcome to take part as long as they are able to swim 0.2 km in open water and have the necessary equipment - bike, helmet, goggles, etc. Important to remember: there will be no traffic closures or traffic control, so both cyclists and runners should respect the rules of the road. This event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors, meet like-minded people and get to know triathlon as a sporting adventure - no pressure, no competition, just the fun of taking part.
