Hindernislauf Mürzathlon

Hindernislauf Mürzathlon is an obstacle course race (OCR) and adventure run in and around Mürzzuschlag, Styria, Austria, taking place on 29–30 August 2026. The course mixes city streets, forest trails, hills, and water sections, combining natural terrain with built obstacles and access to unusual locations that are normally closed to the public.

Most distances are point-to-point routes (no laps). The main exception is Adventure Dogs 10 km, where the 5 km course is completed twice.

Weekend formats include:

- Easy — ~7 km / 10 obstacles
- Fun — ~12 km / 150 m elevation gain / 27 obstacles
- Explorer — ~17 km / 500 m elevation gain / 38 obstacles
- Night Sprint — ~5 km / 10 obstacles (after sunset, headlamp required)
- Day Sprint — ~5 km / 10 obstacles
- Walking — ~5 km / 10 obstacles (walk or run)
- Adventure X — 4-hour bootcamp-style challenge
- Adventure Kids — 2 km or 5 km (separate starts)
- Adventure Dogs — 2 km, 5 km or 10 km (separate starts)

Start and finish are at Stadtplatz Mürzzuschlag. Start times run in time blocks and may change depending on participant numbers and weather.

Timing is optional, but it’s required for podium rankings. Categories typically include youth, main class, and masters, plus a 12 km team ranking for teams of 3+ (including at least one female). Event services usually include race materials, bag drop, aid stations, warm showers, and a finisher medal.
