Latvian State Forests Mountain/Gravel Bicycle Marathon 2025
Stage 2 - Sigulda (18 May 2025)
The Sigulda stage is one of the most dynamic and scenic stages of the Latvian Cycling Marathon. The route takes you through the mountains of the Gauja valley, steep climbs and technical forest trails, offering a challenge to experienced riders and amateurs alike.
Starting point.
Finish: Sigulda
🚴 Road surface: gravel (~50%), forest trails (~40%), asphalt (~10%)
📈 Terrain: Significant climbs and descents, technical forest sections, fast gravel roads
Checkpoints: 2-3 places with water and snacks
🚵 Distances
🚵♂️ Toyota Gravel (60-95 km) - gravel and asphalt roads with longer climbs and fast descents. Suitable for gravel and highway bikes with wider tyres.
🚵♂️ Lielbata MTB (35-60 km) - challenging MTB course with technical forest sections, roots and steep climbs in the Gauja National Park.
🚵♂️ LVM Atpūta MTB (20-30 km) - an easier course with less challenging forest sections, ideal for connoisseurs and beginners.
🚴♂️ Maxima Kids Ride (0.3-2.5 km) - a safe and fun course for the youngest cyclists.
