Engadin Skimarathon

Engadin Skimarathon 2027 is one of the landmark races in international cross-country skiing and the centerpiece of Engadin’s Marathon Week. The 57th edition will take place on 14 March 2027, following the event’s classic 42 km route from Maloja to S-chanf through Switzerland’s Upper Engadin. First held in 1969, it has grown into Switzerland’s largest mass-participation sporting event and is widely described as the world’s second-largest cross-country ski race, attracting thousands of skiers each year. What makes it especially distinctive is the course itself: a long, flowing route that crosses the frozen Engadin lakes, passes traditional alpine villages, and continues through open valley sections and forested stretches before the finish in S-chanf. The result is an event that combines prestige and scale with some of the most beautiful winter scenery in the Alps, making it appealing both to experienced skiers chasing a big-name marathon and to participants looking for an iconic endurance experience in a uniquely scenic setting.
